Good day Achievers,
“A Ship in harbor is safe, but that is not what ships are built for.” The quote read at the thought-for-the-day board in my office. What an impeccable analogy for our lives, I thought to myself. If you see throughout history, the one thing that separates the amazing people who make a difference to the world, from the rest, is the courage they show to fight for what they believe in and what they wish to achieve.
Our society has live examples of those who found courage to live their dreams amidst all the factors bringing them down. Helen Keller defied the dual disability of being deaf and blind; her act of courage made her the first deaf-blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts. Today, she is the role model for the thousands who wish to overcome their disabilities in order to achieve what they desire. Ever wondered what it took for her to showcase such bravery? Or what does it take for anyone for that matter to be strong enough to take a stand for what they believe in. The answer is “Self-belief”; the belief that you are equally important to this world as everyone else. The belief that you are the hero of your life. The faith that you are a capable person, worthy of living the life you desire, and the “willingness” to give whatever it takes to achieve that.
So many of us dream big and have high aspirations, but lack the courage to turn our dreams into reality. Majority of the times we blame the people around us for this failure. The truth, however is that it is we who are to be blamed for this. We often forget that “we” and only “we” are in charge of our lives. The road to success always starts with us fighting our own battles; defeating our own fears and worries. Once we find conviction, convincing the world is not a difficult task.
Once we find courage, our dreams will not remain mere wishes. It is only courage that will help us keep going through tough times. Today, I would just request you to find your inner selves; bring back that lost self-belief and hook on to courage. Trust me, what will happen then would not be a miracle, but definitely a well deserved success.
