When was the last time you played a prank on someone? Probably while you were in school or in college? What if you could play a prank with someone at work, your colleague or even your boss; wouldn’t that be fun? Here we present to you top five prank ideas that you can play in office, without getting fired:-
1. Rotate the screen
Imagine if you come back to your desk after a coffee break, only to find out that your display has turned upside down. You can gift that frustration to your colleague by using Alt+Win+Arrow Key of his/her keyboard; even when the system is locked.
2. Add a wireless Mouse
Sneak a wireless mouse adapter into the back side USB port of your colleagues’ computer. You can create havoc by using the wireless mouse without him/her noticing and it can go for weeks. My personal favorite is maximizing the internet explorer window, which your colleague just minimized because the manager walked over to his/her desk.
3. Add entry to host file
I cannot even imagine, what life would have been without google. Especially for the folks in IT industry, google is the lifeline, there is no substitute for it. What if you can redirect google to something else? May be to Facebook?
In simpler terms, whenever your colleague types in the browser www.google.com, some different website opens?
In Run dialog, type the following %windir%\System32\drivers\etc
Look for the file hosts, and open it notepad
Right at the end of the file, place the following text and save the file:
Note: Replace 127.0.0.1 by the IP of the site you want google to be replaced with. You can find out the Ip of website by pinging it from command prompt (ping www.facebook.com).
4. High Contrast
You can give your colleague’s machine a devastated look, by simply pressing the following keys
This will change the setting of their screen into high contrast mode. This can be reversed by using the same keys. See it for yourself, to assess the magnitude of damage.
5. Keyboard goes crazy
Your friend at work will go crazy trying to tame his/her crazy keyboard. What he presses and what gets typed, will be moons apart. Play this prank as following:-
Head into Control Panel –> Region and Language –> Keyboards –> Change keyboards, then click the Add button and pick the Dvorak layout (or any other random layout you want). Once you’ve done that, use the drop-down above to set the default.
